About
Founder Sam Carothers is an Active Duty U.S. Airman with a passion for efficient and performative technology. He graduated from Longwood University with degrees in Communications and Graphic Design and worked as a webmaster and graphic designer in Washington, DC. He then joined the U.S. Air Force as an Airborne Radar Technician, and now serves in the Cyber field. He put these skills into action over four deployments and 15 years of active service.With his passion for fixing problems and his keen eye for design, Sam has made it his mission to ensure his clients' web presence is optimized and proficient.
What is a Web Test?
A web test is an assessment of the effectiveness of your website/app in terms of design, functionality, and ease of use. Every page is viewed and every link clicked to ensure everything functions and displays as expected.
Why is this important?
It’s simple: web presence is one of the most critical assets of a business. It’s the virtual storefront for products and services, and the first point of engagement for most customer interaction. Ultimately, website errors affect the bottom line. Better to let me find them before your customers do.
Websites vs Apps
Applications are significantly different from websites, and I take this into account when approaching a client's mobile presence. Apps are designed for a condensed experience, so they must be hyper customer-focused and approachable. A successful app will deliver the most pertinent information to the customer to encourage engagement - is yours doing that? Let me answer that before they do.
What's the process?
Click the "Request A Test" button to submit your contact information and package choice.
AWT will be in contact to verify information, answer any questions, and deliver invoice.
Upon receipt of payment, AWT will send a brief questionnaire to formulate a personal approach to client's website/app.
Testing will be completed within 3 business days (see About page for more info).
Full report will be issued to client.
Optional follow-up conversation via phone or email regarding findings is available at customer request.
How do Web Tests work?
A Web Test evaluates from two perspectives: yours (the client) and your customer's.For your perspective, I first ask for a business-minded introspective from you. What do you want from your website? What are your goals for it? How do you want to approach your customers? These are crucial steps to determining if your website is, in fact, working for you.Using a detailed checklist tailored to your organization’s input, I as a ghost-customer will then browse your online real estate while considering the following:
What do you want the customer to be able to do, and how? Is this being accomplished?
Are your goals being met?
Are the links too busy or broken?
Are intake forms working properly?
Is your website properly formatted and user friendly?
Is your app properly correlated to your website?
Is all information up to date and correct?
Next, I will switch to the customer’s perspective, and consider the following:
Is this a pleasant experience?
Is it nice to look at?
Is this easy to use?
Can I find what I need?
Is any of it confusing, distracting, or broken?

The results
Clients receive a report which includes your completed checklist as well as a succinct explanation of my findings and suggestions for the future. I am also happy to discuss your report through a call or virtual meeting.
